The HSE strongly recommends that qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders undertake an annual refresher course to keep their skills up-to-date. The two courses, listed previously, last for three years before they need to be renewed. However, it is widely accepted that this period is too long without any up-to date training. Participants from 14 years of age may attend.
This course provides consists of theoretical and practical activities. It is designed to refresh first aid knowledge and skills.
This course is for those with an in-date First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (the certificate must be seen prior to commencing the course) who are in need of annual refresher training.
Participants should have a positive attitude, be responsible, have an aptitude to help, be able to think clearly in times of need, be willing and able to learn new skills, be physically able to deal with demanding emergency situations and have good communication skills.

The course tutor will be continually assess attendees throughout the course.
Each participant must attend all three hours of the course and will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 1 year. The course involves some scenario based role play activities, please dress appropriately. We should be notified in advance of any movement/bending problems please let us know so we can plan alternative activities.
